I fell in love with Korean skin care and beauty products in 2022, after battling a year-long journey with adult acne. I had tried everything under the sun, from chemist brands to premium ones - and those that you can only purchase through an 'advisor' - IYKYK. I was told I had to purchase the full range before I would see any results, and when that didn't work, I had to work on my insides and was 'prescribed' various supplements - which only exacerbated my acne. Little did I know that during this time of trying to fight the acne, I was causing serious damage to my skin barrier. Not to mention the daily struggle with my appearance and the blow to my self-esteem.
Fast-forward through a lot of research and heartache, I mustered up the courage to ditch the 'premium' products that promised everything but delivered the opposite. Slowly but surely I repaired and nurtured my skin barrier once again, by stripping my skin care routine down to the simplest of all - a gentle cleanser, a repairing toner, a nurturing serum, and a simple replenishing cream. Of course, not forgetting the ever crucial sunscreen!

The thing is, I'm not saying what works and what doesn't - as everyone's skin responds differently to different things. I'm also not saying that all supplements don't have a time and place in one's skin care journey.
